Professional Learning

Sydney Catholic Schools offers appropriate and supportive pathways for the preparation and ongoing professional learning of its teachers, especially in Religious Education (RE), and for the professional and spiritual formation of those who will lead our schools into the future.

SCS offers ongoing professional development courses as well as reimbursement of costs for post graduate study in RE and Theology.

Religious Education Accreditation

It is a requirement that all teachers of Religious Education be qualified teachers, with the necessary background, knowledge, and professional commitment to the purposes of RE and the ethos of the Catholic School. It is expected that teachers of Religious Education are Catholic, and are committed to their faith.

Those seeking accreditation to teach Religious Education can apply through the classification process or complete the Application for Accreditation.
